While it was supposed to join Cameroon this Thursday, the Algerian national team has finally postponed its departure from Doha.
Its departure from Doha (Qatar) was scheduled the day after the friendly match against Ghana (3-0). But the Algerian soccer team will not join Cameroon this Thursday. Finally, Djamel Belmadi and his men will leave the Qatari capital on Saturday, the day before the start of the CAN 2021.
In a statement, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) gave the reasons for this change of program.
“The national coach, Mr. Djamel Belmadi, preferred to give the opportunity to the players to better recover from their match and their efforts by avoiding additional fatigue related to travel, “wrote the authority.
Algeria plays its first match of the CAN 2021 on Tuesday, January 11 against Sierra Leone.
