FOOTBALL – Barça Mercato: Braithwaite sets a condition to West Ham

According to Mundo Deportivo, Martin Braithwaite, pushed to the exit by the management of Barcelona, would agree to join West Ham this summer on one condition.

Barça Mercato: Braithwaite interested by West Ham?

Arrived in February 2018 from Leganes for a check of 10 million euros, Martin Braithwaite is tied to Barcelona until June 2024. While he still has three years left on his contract with Barca, the Danish striker is uncertain to continue his adventure in Catalonia, as coach Ronald Koeman prefers to bet on other offensive options to animate his attack. With the arrivals of Sergio Aguero and Memphis Depay, Martin Braithwaite knows that it will be very difficult to reverse the trend.

The Barcelona management would have already placed him on the list of possible departures in order to lower their wage bill and bring money into their hard-pressed coffers. This situation then attracted the attention of West Ham in search of offensive reinforcement at lower cost. The newspaper Sport recently revealed that the Hammers have begun negotiations with Barcelona for his transfer. And the 30-year-old player is well aware of this.

The Barcelona striker is waiting for a good offer

Martin Braithwaite does not close the door to a new challenge, but he would have put a condition for his possible transfer. According to Mundo Deportivo, the former Toulouse FC striker would have told his management that he would leave Barcelona if he received “a good sporting and economic offer” from his future club. The West Ham leaders are therefore warned, they will have to be very convincing in this case. Remember that Martin Braithwaite played last season 52 games for 7 goals and 3 assists, all competitions combined.
