FOOTBALL – CAN 2021: Ivory Coast cancels another friendly match…

Ivory Coast is experiencing a particularly difficult preparation for the 2021 African Cup of Nations. After the cancellation of their match on Monday against the Comoros, the Elephants have also abandoned their friendly match against Mali, scheduled for Tuesday or Thursday in Saudi Arabia (the date varied according to different sources).

Between the late arrivals of the last players retained by their clubs and the numerous cases of Covid-19 still present in the squad, Patrice Beaumelle’s men were not able to present a sufficiently competitive eleven. This could well mean that the Malians and Ivorians will join Cameroon without having played a single preparation match…

The Selefanto is scheduled to start the competition on January 12 against Equatorial Guinea (Group E), the Eagles on January 12 also against Tunisia (Group F).
