FOOTBALL – PSG: Disaster, worst possible draw in the Champions League

The draw for the quarterfinals of the Champions League was held this Friday and eight teams, including PSG, were waiting to know their fate. The first leg matches will take place on April 6 and 7, while the second leg matches will take place on April 13 and 14. And the draw was not kind to Paris Saint-Germain, which inherits the biggest client with Bayern Munich. The Parisians will meet again their opponent of the last edition, which had deprived them of their first ever cup with big ears in Lisbon, in August (1-0).

The biggest piece for PSG

PSG feared to cross paths with Chelsea on their way to the Champions League final. And it will not be the case before, the Parisians had to breathe a sigh of relief when they saw Thomas Tuchel‘s club shot against FC Porto. But then they were seized with anguish when they saw the last three opponents that were possible to meet: the Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Liverpool. And it is the worst of these three big ones that PSG inherited, the Germans of Bayern Munich. The Bavarians are frightening and their war machine, unstoppable last season, does not seem to be full of success. They will meet the French champions again, after having beaten them in the final of the C1 last season (1-0), for the great first of PSG at this stage of the competition.

A huge test against Bayern Munich

The draw also concerned the semi-finals, as the winners of the quarter-finals will already know what to expect in the last four. If they qualify against Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain will face the winner of the duel between Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund. It would be another thrilling encounter if Mauricio Pochettino‘s club were to face Pep Guardiola‘s club, the undisputed leaders of the Premier League this season. The other two quarter-final matches will pit Porto against Chelsea, and Zinedine Zidane‘s Real Madrid against Jurgen Klopp‘s Liverpool in a European showdown that is already making people drool.
