Which XI for PSG against Manchester City?
After Barcelona and Bayern Munich, Mauricio Pochettino and his men have another big European meeting in two days, as Pep Guardiola‘s Manchester City will face them in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final. While the Paris Saint-Germain coach still has 48 hours to choose the players he will field on Wednesday night at the Etihad Stadium, L’Equipe and Le Parisien have already given an update on the Red and Blue squad. According to the two media, the first good news is the availability of Kylian Mbappe for this match.
The top scorer of Ligue 1 will be able to play his role against the Citizens after being injured on Friday in Metz. For Le Parisien, Pochettino‘s first concern is central defender Marquinhos, who could be replaced by Danilo Pereira in the center of defense with Presnel Kimpembe. For its part, L’Equipe assures that even “on a three-quarter leg”, the PSG captain should start the game in Manchester.
With the return of Alessandro Florenzi, Pochettino will have to make a choice for the right-back position between the 30-year-old Italian and the young Colin Dagba, who showed good things against Bayern Munich. On the left side of the PSG defense, he will also have to choose between Mitchell Bakker and Abdou Diallo. For the rest, Keylor Navas, Marco Verratti, Neymar and Angel Di Maria will all be present for this clash.
Possible PSG line-up: Navas – Florenzi (or Dagba), Marquinhos (or Danilo), Kimpembe, Diallo (or Bakker) – Gueye, Paredes – Neymar, Verratti, Di Maria – Mbappe
Manchester City – PSG referee appointed
UEFA appointed this Monday the German Felix Brych to referee the first leg of the Champions League semi-final between Paris SG and Manchester City. The 45-year-old is a very experienced referee and has already refereed four matches for PSG in this competition. Under him, the Parisian club has had two wins, one draw and one defeat. The last meeting between Felix Brych and the Parisian team was in March 2018 for the round of 16 second leg lost to Real Madrid (1-2) at the Parc des Princes. Marco Verratti must remember him very well since he had been expelled that night.
