Bayern-PSG : Christophe Galtier gives his verdict for Neymar

On Friday, Christophe Galtier discussed Neymar‘s situation five days before the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 match between Bayern Munich and PSG.

Neymar, who suffered a serious ankle sprain in Ligue 1 against Lille, is working hard to be included in the Paris Saint-Germain squad, which will attempt to achieve the feat at the Allianz Arena on March 8 against Bayern Munich. Having lost 0-1 on February 14 at the Parc des Princes, PSG is looking to turn the tables in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16.

The 31-year-old Brazilian forward is eager to participate in this clash to help his team qualify for the quarterfinals of the prestigious competition. While the medical report released by the Parisian club on Friday still left a slight hope of seeing Neymar in Munich in five days, Christophe Galtier made a stunning announcement on the subject.

PSG: Neymar out for Munich trip

In his medical update, Paris Saint-Germain notably indicates that “Neymar Jr continues his rehabilitation, an update will be provided on Monday to clarify his progress.” While his absence for the 26th round of Ligue 1 against FC Nantes on Saturday night is already confirmed, his absence for the trip to Germany still remains to be confirmed as he is expected to undergo further examinations next Monday.

But there is no need to wait to find out whether Messi and Mbappé‘s teammate will be in the game next Wednesday against Bayern Munich. During a press conference on Friday, Christophe Galtier announced the absence of his number 10 for the second leg of the Champions League round of 16. “A chance of being in the squad for Bayern? No. He will be absent. I think he will be absent against Bayern,” said the PSG coach. The question now is whether Christophe Galtier will play it like he did with Kylian Mbappé for the first leg.
