A new arrival at RC Lens was made official this Friday. As expected, the defender Kevin Danso has signed with the northern club. He replaces Loïc Bade who was transferred to Stade Rennais.

RC Lens has found the successor of Loïc Bade in the heart of its defense. The Sang et Gold have recruited Kevin Danso, a central defender from German club FC Augsburg. “The mercato of Lens is accelerating and gaining momentum with the signing of a new international, the Austrian Kevin Danso. The 22-year-old defensive rock with imposing dimensions (1.90 m for 85 kg), the native of Voitsberg was the top priority of Racing Club,” the northern club learned. “He arrives with a flattering reputation and the firm intention to confirm in Ligue 1 the great potential shown in Germany (41 games in the Bundesliga) and in the Premier League (Southampton) in particular,” RCL said in its official statement. Let’s recall that RC Lens recruited Przemyslaw Frankowski, a Polish right-back, on Thursday.

Arnaud Pouille, General Manager of RC Lens, gave a behind-the-scenes account of the arrival of David Alaba‘s teammate in the Austrian national team. “We had to be patient to conclude the arrival of Kevin, a player for whom the mutual interest was instantaneous, sustained and constant,” he said. “The difficulty of the negotiations with his club reveals all the attractiveness and potential of this handsome player. […] It is a pleasure to welcome him before the start of the championship. A new international joins us, which is a confirmation of the attractiveness of Racing”, justified the manager of the Sang et Gold.
According to Florent Ghisolfi, the profile of the 22-year-old player was one of the decisive criteria in the choice of Artesian. “Kevin Danso was our absolute priority. His ability to play in central defense as well as in the midfield makes him a versatile player with strong physical skills. […] We welcome a thoughtful and determined player who wants to confirm the promises that have accompanied his young career,” stressed the Sports Coordinator of the Ligue 1 club.
