OM Mercato : 40M€, a major operation already decided in the middle

Fine negotiator and very clever in business, Pablo Longoria would have already planned a nice operation for the OM for the next summer mercato.

Arrived on loan from Arsenal in the summer of 2021, Mattéo Guendouzi has quickly established himself in the team of Olympique Marseille. But the adventure of the midfielder should not continue beyond the current season. The 23-year-old was rumored to be on Unai Emery‘s radar this winter, and is expected to join Aston Villa in a few months.

In today’s edition, the newspaper Team assures that the departure of Guendouzi seems to be inevitable. The 2022 World Cup runner-up is not considered an indisputable starter in the eyes of his coach Igor Tudor. Internally, this transfer is already in the mind of the president Pablo Longoria, who could get a very good price.

OM Mercato : Mattéo Guendouzi at Aston Villa next summer?

Indeed, the sports daily explains this Sunday that the departure of Mattéo Guendouzi at the end of the season appears to be inevitable for Olympique Marseille. Recruited last summer for 11 million euros, the defensive midfielder trained at Paris Saint-Germain is no longer in the plans of Marseille’s leaders and his transfer would be “clearly programmed” to allow OM to replenish the coffers after being active this winter.

Still according to the same source, Longoria could quickly reach an agreement with Aston Villa for the Poissy native around a sum reaching 40 million euros. Under contract in Marseille until June 2025, the French international could return to the Premier League next season.
