OM Mercato: Iliman Ndiaye reaches out to Marseille.
The management of Olympique de Marseille is not wasting any time. With 7 games left in the season, the Marseille executives are already at work to attract new reinforcements during the upcoming summer transfer window. OM‘s priority will undoubtedly be to strengthen its attacking sector, where several players are likely to leave.
To anticipate these potential departures, the Marseille management is already exploring several offensive options. While the names of Folarin Balogun (Stade de Reims) and Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace) are already being mentioned, OM executives could also follow in the footsteps of a striker playing in the Championship. Iliman Ndiaye has once again made an appeal to OM.
In an interview with So Foot, the Senegalese international once again expressed his dream of one day playing for Marseille. “Signing for OM? Yes, of course. Since I was little, I’ve loved this club. I watch all their games and I hope they qualify for the Champions League. They have a good project, Pablo Longoria has been doing good work since he arrived,” he said.
Iliman Ndiaye, a big fan of Marseille. At 23 years old, Iliman Ndiaye is having a good season at Sheffield United with 14 goals and 9 assists in 47 appearances. His performances have attracted the interest of several Premier League clubs. But the young dribbler seems to have a preference for his future destination.
Very visible during the last World Cup with Senegal, the young attacking midfielder would like to return to Marseille, the club he has supported since he was young. “Since I was little, I’ve loved OM. The first shirt my father bought me was theirs. When I was little, my father suggested I go for trials at PSG or Marseille. I said OM straight away! I played there for a year, it’s a club that I still hold dear in my heart,” he added.
It remains to be seen if the leaders of OM will respond positively to this call. For now, Iliman Ndiaye is under contract with Sheffield United until 2024 and is keeping all his options open for the future.
