Bayern-PSG: Sadio Mané sends a clear message to Paris before the clash
Absent from the first leg against PSG, Bayern Munich striker Sadio Mané spoke out a week before the Champions League return leg.
On February 14, Paris Saint-Germain lost to Bayern at the Parc des Princes. During that Champions League round of 16 first leg, Senegalese international Sadio Mané was absent. After being away from the pitch for several months, the 30-year-old African champion returned to action last weekend. He is now ready to face PSG on March 8 in Munich.
A week before the titanic clash between the two clubs, Sadio Mané spoke to Bild. The Senegalese international discussed his fitness and the upcoming match against Paris Saint-Germain. “It’s been a long time, but now I feel much better. Being on the field with my teammates and having the ball at my feet again makes me happy.
“The club has taken very good care of me. The first leg against PSG was too early for me, but the return leg was always in my mind.” Sadio Mané will therefore be present against PSG, but the Senegalese international may start the match on the bench.
PSG: Sadio Mané present, Neymar absent
While Bayern Munich should be at full strength to face Paris Saint-Germain next Wednesday, the injury crisis continues for the Parisian side. After losing Neymar Jr, it is Presnel Kimpembe who got injured on Sunday during the Classico. The French world champion is suffering from a ruptured Achilles tendon and his season is already over. It’s another hard blow for PSG who could also be without Neymar.
Injured on his ankle on February 19th against Lille, Neymar is still uncertain for the second leg of the round of 16. PSG could provide an update this week on the length of his absence.
