FOOTBALL – Frankfurt-OM: Eintracht striker analyses Marseille before the clash
OM can qualify for the Champions League finals if they win against Frankfurt on Wednesday. But a French striker warns the Phoceens.
Frankfurt-OM: Randal Kolo-Muani wary of Marseille
Transferred from FC Nantes to Eintracht Frankfurt this summer, Randal Kolo-Muani knows Olympique Marseille very well having played against them in Ligue 1. Present in the squad of the Canaries between 2018 and 2022, the 23-year-old forward is wary of the Phocaean club in view of the next Champions League match in Germany :
“OM, it will be a big fight. We came to beat them at home, so I think they still have it in the throat,” said the player in an interview for Telefoot.
Especially since the stakes of the match are very high for both teams. On the one hand, the Phoceens can qualify if they win for the third time in a row. On the other hand, Eintracht Frankfurt must not lose or they will probably be eliminated before the last day of the Champions League.
Randal Kolo-Muani provokes… Valentin Rongier !
If he knows that this match against OM will be difficult to win for Eintracht Frankfurt, Randal Kolo-Muani could not help but to scoff. And who else than Valentin Rongier, ex-teammate of the player at FC Nantes between 2018 and 2019, could be his target? Thus, during his interview for Téléfoot, Kolo-Muani brandished the shirt of the Marseille midfielder with a sly smile:
“Here is Val’ (Valentin Rongier), I give you an appointment on Wednesday. You can give me your second shirt, as you lost in the first leg.
OM must also beware of its German opponent. Eintracht won on Saturday at Borussia Mönchengladbach (1-3) during the eleventh day of Bundesliga. A success that allowed the SGE to move up to the fourth place in the standings, the first qualifier for the next Champions League. Beaten at home against Lens on Saturday, Marseille will have to be solid in Germany to win.
