FOOTBALL – Barça Mercato: A big name targeted in case of failure with Erling Haaland

Barcelona, like Real Madrid, is dreaming of attracting Erling Haaland by this summer. But if this fails, Barcelona is looking closely at another big name in attack.

Haaland, Barça’s big dream

Only a few hours before the start of the winter market and already the first names are circulating in the big European clubs. Barça dreams of bringing a prestigious striker in its ranks. If he thinks for some time to the Norwegian cyborg, Erling Haaland, the latter is at least followed by several renowned clubs and still does not know what his future is made. His technical quality, his monstrous physique and his potential in front of the goal attract inevitably.

As revealed by the Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo, the arrival of Haaland in Barcelona would restore the blaugrana’s image with the return of an emblematic world figure, not to mention the economic and marketing impact on the club. But despite the chemistry between Barça president Joan Laporta and Erling Haaland‘s agent, Mino Raiola, his transfer to Spain looks “economically complex and costly” to say the least. Although an exit clause of 75 million euros could be accepted by the Viola, the file Haaland would not be so simple. Especially since Barca will face stiff competition in Spain and England.

Barça Mercato: A plan B in case of failure with Haaland

If the Haaland deal fails, Barcelona has a plan B in mind. The Catalans would have set their sights on the Serbian striker of Fiorentina, Dusan Vlahovic. The Spanish press believes that this transfer would be more feasible and less expensive. At the end of the contract in June 2023, Fiorentina would be attentive to proposals from this summer. The Serbian has a very good rating in Serie A, author of 21 goals last year and already 16 this season, making him one of the most influential players on the market. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is currently 70 million euros. In 2020, Vlahovic‘s agents offered their player to Barcelona after Luis Suarez left for Atletico Madrid, but Fiorentina did not follow up.
