FOOTBALL – OM Mercato : Longoria towards a 30 M€ disillusion this summer ?
Arsenal should not make a gift to OM to whom it has loaned two players this season. The Gunners expect a big check.
Arsenal set to upset OM’s plans this summer
Olympique the Marseille opted more for loans during the last summer mercato. OM turned to Arsenal to recruit two reinforcements on loan. Matteo Guendouzi joined Marseille on loan with an option to buy. No option was included for the loan of William Saliba. However, given the prowess of the central defender, Pablo Longoria no longer rules out the possibility of keeping the player trained at AS Saint-Etienne. Arsenal does not close the door to a transfer of Saliba but intends to return to its costs. Foot Mercato reveals that the London club requires at least 30 million euros to sell the former St. Etienne player.
Towards a return of Saliba to Arsenal?
The amount claimed by Arsenal could cool the management of Olympique the Marseille. Especially since it has not yet made a big sale during the last two mercatos. William Saliba could return to the Gunners at the end of the season. Since his arrival in London, the 20-year-old defender is far from being considered a starter by Mikel Arteta. The former ASSE player has never played for the Gunners first team. With the recruitment of Ben White and the slight improvement observed in recent months in the Premier League, it is not certain that he will upset the hierarchy in his position if he returns to London.
As a reminder, William Saliba joined Arsenal in 2019 for 30 million euros. He is still under contract with the Gunners until 2024. Saliba‘s loan to Marseille is already his third since he joined the London club. He was loaned to AS Saint-Etienne in his first year of contract. In the second half of last season, he had a stint at OGC Nice.
