OM Mercato : Alexis Sanchez on his departure from Inter

Last summer’s flagship recruit for OM, Alexis Sanchez, spoke about his departure from Inter Milan on the sidelines of the Classique against PSG.

Following the departure of Arkadiusz Milik, Olympique de Marseille embarked on a search for a renowned striker to replace the Pole. Pablo Longoria found a good deal with one of his old offensive targets to compensate for the departure of the Polish international. The Marseille president went hunting for Alexis Sanchez at Inter Milan, a great deal for OM as they didn’t pay a single penny to the Lombard club for the transfer of Sanchez. The Chilean is proving to be a success at Marseille, having scored 13 goals and provided one assist in 29 appearances, making him the most decisive Marseille player this season. On the sidelines of the Classique against PSG at the Velodrome last Sunday, the former Inter player spoke about his departure from Milan.

OM Mercato: The Truth about Alexis Sanchez’s Departure from Inter Milan

The new star striker for Olympique de Marseille was in search of more playing time, which is why he opted to leave the Lombard club last summer. Sanchez‘s departure to OM was also a boon for the Nerrazzurri management, as Inter wished to get rid of the South American‘s hefty salary. He has signed with Olympiens until 2023 with an option for an additional year. Relaunched in Marseille, the Chilean has no regrets about his departure and is enjoying his experience in Provence.

Often, former teammates at Inter tell me that I could still be useful to the team and don’t really understand my departure. But that’s football, I just wanted to play more…I thank everyone at Inter, I had a great time in that locker room, but now I’m in Marseille and I’m happy,” he said in an interview with Sky Sport Italia.
