FOOTBALL – PSG – Nantes: Paris victim of a small climb to the Park
Paris Saint-Germain missed the opportunity to take the lead in the championship. On Sunday, PSG lost at home to FC Nantes, despite being penultimate in the league before kick-off.
PSG are surprised at the Park by FC Nantes
Fallen from FC Barcelona in the Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain started out as the favorite against FC Nantes this Sunday. But PSG have not confirmed their status against a relegation FCN. Mauricio Pochettino’s men were beaten at the Parc des Princes by the Canaries (1-2). The evening had started well for the band in Marquinhos. A goal from Julian Draxler in the 42nd minute indeed allowed the premises to lead at half-time (1-0). Coming back with more determination, the foals of Antoine Kombouaré gave themselves a little climb back from the locker room. Moses Simon (59th) first equalized for the visitors before promising Kolo Muani (71st) gave his team all three points.
A winning return for Kombouaré at the Park
Against Nantes, the Parisians conceded their seventh defeat of the season in the league. PSG stalled in second place tied on points with OL (3rd) and are three points behind LOSC. Winner of Paris, FC Nantes goes back to 18th place in the championship. The club on the edges of the Order can rely on such a feat to believe in its chances of survival. Coach of the Canaries since mid-February, Antoine Kombouaré signed his second victory on the FCN bench. A particular success for the 57-year-old technician who signed his return to the Park. He officiated on the Parisian bench from 2009 to 2011. After this victory, Nantes will be opposed to a direct competitor in the race to maintain during the next day. The Yellow and Green will challenge FC Lorient (17th) on Sunday March 21.
