FOOTBALL – Real Madrid: Eden Hazard promises great things for the end of the season
Flagship recruit of Real Madrid in the summer of 2019, Eden Hazard has never managed to really launch his adventure with the Merengue. Yet extremely talented, the native of Louviere does not really miss Real even if a recent statement could push the fans to give the player another chance.
Eden Hazard is back (again)
Walking on the Premier League during his last season with Chelsea, Eden Hazard has taken the step in the summer of 2019 by joining his club of heart: the Real Madrid. A transfer filling with hope the Madrid fans orphaned by Cristiano Ronaldo for a year, leaving a lonely Karim Benzema. Since his arrival, the Belgian attacking midfielder did not make a good impression to the fans of Santiago-Bernabeu. Out of shape and slightly overweight, the LOSC-trained player strung together injuries like pearls and almost didn’t have a season, also lacking luck, especially in rough contacts, like the one of his compatriot Thomas Meunier during a Real Madrid–PSG.
This season has not been better for the Madrid number 7, who has only taken part in 16 TTC games. However, the Red Devil returned to La Liga this weekend and even played half an hour against his former club, Chelsea, in the Champions League semi-final. Now accustomed, Hazard does not want to burn the stages as he explained to BT Sport: “I think I just want to go step by step. Of course I want to play, but last game [against Real Betis] I played 15 minutes, today a bit more.”
He wants to make Real Madrid win
Motivated as ever, the 30-year-old catalyst is aware of the breathtaking end of the season that awaits him with the White House. Happy to have made his reunion with his former teammates, Hazard affirmed his desire to make Real Madrid win this season to the British media: “We have some games, good games, to play before the end of the season. I just want to be ready for them. I feel better, just happy to be able to play again. (…) It’s always good to play against friends. I have some friends there, but now I’m a Real Madrid player, so I just want to win. It doesn’t matter if it’s Chelsea or someone else, I just want to win. “Comments that show an interesting state of mind on the side of the Belgian, which should delight Zinedine Zidane.
