FC Barcelona Mercato: Barça interested in German talent

Always in search of offensive reinforcement, FC Barcelona would like to secure the services of Florian Wirtz this summer.

This season, FC Barcelona is back at the top, with a title in the Spanish Supercup and a leading position in La Liga. The Blaugranas could also win the Copa del Rey, as they are facing Real Madrid. One of the regrets this season is the European journey of the Catalans.

After their early elimination from the Champions League, the Blaugranas were eliminated in the Europa League by Manchester United. In order to build a team capable of going far in the Champions League next season, FC Barcelona would like to recruit a new striker.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Barça management would have set its sights on the Bayer Leverkusen striker, Florian Wirtz (19 years old). The German international would be one of FC Barcelona‘s priorities for the next summer transfer window. The Blaugranas believe that the Bayer Leverkusen prodigy is the ideal player to strengthen their attacking line.

Florian Wirtz can play on the sides and as a center forward. His possible signing for FC Barcelona would offer many options to Xavi. The German striker could notably compete with Ousmane Dembélé, Raphinha, or Ansu Fati, and supplement Robert Lewandowski. Like the Vitor Roque case, Barcelona‘s interest in Florian Wirtz is in line with the Blaugranas‘ new recruitment policy.

FC Barcelona Transfer News: Florian Wirtz is on Barça’s radar.

According to information from Mundo Deportivo, FC Barcelona executives would have met with Florian Wirtz‘s father. The German international would be open to the idea of joining Barça during the next summer transfer window.

FC Barcelona could take advantage of Bayer Leverkusen’s situation to recruit Florian Wirtz. The club, coached by Xabi Alonso, is currently 9th in the Bundesliga, 11 points away from the 4th qualifying place for the Champions League. A transfer to Barça would allow Florian Wirtz to take a step up and play in the Champions League every season.
