OL Mercato: Houssem Aouar makes a big announcement about his future
Reported to be close to joining Eintracht Frankfurt, OL midfielder Houssem Aouar has spoken out about his potential transfer to the Bundesliga.
Olympique Lyonnais qualified for the semi-finals of the Coupe de France with a 2-1 victory over Grenoble. The Gones are now the favourites to win the competition. Laurent Blanc‘s men could win a sixth Coupe de France in the club’s history and secure a place in Europe. Houssem Aouar missed the quarter-final against Grenoble due to a knee injury.
The former OL captain has been linked with a move away from the club for several months, and this week the situation took a new turn. Several German media outlets reported a total agreement between Houssem Aouar and Eintracht Frankfurt for a 5-year contract. A signing bonus of 5 million euros was also reportedly negotiated for the Lyon native.
However, a new development has called Houssem Aouar‘s future into question. The 24-year-old midfielder commented on the potential transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt, stating that he was not aware of such a transaction. “So some people know where I will be playing next season before I do…that’s strong! Not very serious, but I’m used to it.” Houssem Aouar denies any agreement with the winners of the last Europa League. His future is still uncertain and the OL midfielder has not yet made a decision about his future club.
