FOOTBALL – OGC Nice: Todibo prefers D4 to a substitute role at Barça!
Transferred from Toulouse FC to Barcelona in 2019, Jean-Clair Todibo has never imposed himself in Catalonia. As proof, he played only five games with the teammates of Lionel Messi before being loaned to Schalke 04, Benfica and then Nice.
OGC Nice is doing better with Todibo
In great difficulty defensively in the first part of the season, OGC Nice has attached the services of two reinforcements in the winter mercato, those of William Saliba and Jean-Clair Todibo. Since then, Nice’s rearguard is behaving a little better and this is reflected in the results, as evidenced by the latest demonstration against OM (3-0). The Aiglons are in eleventh place with 39 points, 8 units less than RC Lens, holder of the fifth qualifying place for the European Cup.
Jean-Clair Todibo prefers to play for Sedan than to be a substitute at Barça
In an interview with L’Equipe, the former defender of the Violets explained that he had a bad time in Catalonia. So much so that he would have preferred to play under the colors of… Sedan, in National 2, the fourth French division! “It sucks to go to Barcelona and not play,” said Todibo. “I’d rather wear the Sedan jersey and play than go to Barcelona and not play. You already get less criticism at Sedan… The presentation in Barcelona is crazy, but I only played five games, it’s fake in real. I won a Liga, but I did not help the team, I played when we had won the title!” recalls the central defender. OGC Nice is now counting on him to finish the season in style. He will then go back to Barcelona, unless the club decides to sign him permanently.
