FOOTBALL – OM Mercato : Maksimovic, his lightning answer to Longoria

At the end of his contract in Naples, Nikola Maksimovic is announced on the list of players targeted by OM. Approached by a Neapolitan media, the Serbian defender made the point on his current situation.

OM Mercato : Maksimovic received two offers from France

Pablo Longoria is very active on the transfer market. The president of Olympique Marseille has already completed the arrival of eight major recruits to strengthen the Olympic squad and it is not over yet. The Marseille management could attract a new defender in case of departure of Duje Caleta-Car, very appreciated in the Premier League.

It is in this perspective that Gianluca Di Marzio recently revealed an interest of OM for Nikola Maksimovic. The Serbian defender has not yet extended his contract, which expired last June with Napoli. The Marseille club would like to take advantage of his contractual situation to recruit him for free this summer.

In a long interview with Napoli Magazine, the main interested party expressed himself on this issue and admitted to have received two good offers from French clubs, without revealing their identity. “There were 4 offers, 2 from France, one from Turkey and one from Qatar,” he said.

Nikola Maksimovic has made his choice

But Nikola Maksimovic has already decided for the rest of his career, he does not intend to leave the Italian championship where he feels good. “I do not see myself far from Italy and Napoli is a priority. I would run back there, I feel at home. The city welcomed me with my family, we made friends who will remain strong for life. My children are Neapolitans and do well in the schools they attend,” he added.

The Serbian defender therefore says he is open to the idea of extending at Napoli, where he has played since 2016. “For my part, if Napoli wants, I am ready to make myself available to find an agreement and continue together,” said Nikola Maksimovic, who would like to “work with Luciano Spalletti”, the new coach of Napoli who succeeded Gennaro Gattuso. Marseille should therefore make a cross on this defensive track.
