OM Mercato : Igor Tudor, Juventus already regret their decision

OM is happy to have bet on Igor Tudor this season. Yet, it was close to seeing the Croat continue at Juventus.

After a disappointing start to the season, marked by elimination from all European competitions, Olympique de Marseille managed to turn things around. Since the beginning of 2023, OM seems completely transformed with a series of 9 wins in 11 matches, across all competitions. The Marseille club has been recording positive results to climb back up to second place in Ligue 1.

Marseille currently has 52 points after 24 matches, a record at this stage of the competition in the club’s history. These statistics make OM a serious contender for the French championship title. This impressive performance is largely due to the remarkable work of Igor Tudor on the Marseille bench.

Having arrived last summer at OM amidst total skepticism to succeed Jorge Sampaoli, the Croatian coach managed to impose his efficient style of football on Marseille after waves of tension and concern. Strongly criticized at the beginning of the season, particularly after his fiasco in the Champions League, Igor Tudor managed to change public opinion by recording positive results. His remarkable work has made the supporters of OM very happy, but it also gives some regret to certain clubs who did not believe in him.

OM Mercato: Igor Tudor gives regrets to Juventus.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reveals that Igor Tudor‘s good results at OM are giving regrets to Juventus executives who refused to entrust him with the reins of the first team after Andrea Pirlo‘s dismissal in May 2021. At that time, Igor Tudor was the assistant coach at Juve and was then tipped for the A-team command. But this promotion never took place.

The Bianconeri preferred to bet on the return of Massimiliano Allegri and the results are far from satisfactory. The Old Lady can, therefore, regret their decision. Meanwhile, OM, under the orders of Igor Tudor, will try to extend its winning streak in the clash against PSG next Sunday at the Vélodrome stadium.
