PSG Mercato : Two departures in the middle
Like every summer for the past few seasons, Paris Saint-Germain is looking to solve its perennial problem in the midfield. Again this summer, PSG has already recruited a new midfielder in the person of Vitinha. Paris paid 40 million euros for the transfer of the Portuguese international. After the former Porto man, Luis Campos should recruit another of his compatriots to strengthen Christophe Galtier‘s midfield. Renato Sanches has been rumored to be at AC Milan, but he has reportedly given priority to Paris. While the LOSC midfielder could arrive, two departures are mentioned in the capital. Leandro Paredes and Georginio Wijnaldum are both announced to leave this summer.
Negotiations with Paredes and Wijnaldum
The name of the Argentine midfielder is circulating again on the transfer market. Recruited in January 2021, the Argentine international has not established himself in the midfield alongside Marco Verratti, the only guarantee in this position in Paris. Leandro Paredes was once rumored to be headed to Inter Milan, but he could join a Serie A club. The 28-year-old midfielder could join Juventus. Il Tirreno reveals that the Old Lady has advanced discussions with the Argentine midfielder. The newspaper also assures that the Bianconeri have increased the pressure on PSG to complete the transfer of Paredes in the coming weeks. The principal concerned would not be against a departure to Turin where he could find his compatriot Angel Di Maria.
As for Georginio Wijnaldum, he could sign his return home just one year after his transfer to Paris Saint-Germain. The Dutch midfielder is being courted by PSV Eindhoven. The local media ED even assures that the two parties have already begun discussions. The former Liverpool player would have to give up his substantial salary if he wants to return to PSV, the club where he played from 2011 to 2015.
