In recent hours, AS reports that FIFA will implement an “anti-Arsenal” law. This means that from the World Cup onwards, a goal can be disallowed by VAR in the event of a foul by the attacker… even before the ball is played (for example on a corner).
In total, VAR could now be used in seven cases: goal, penalty, red card, second yellow card leading to an expulsion, identity of a player, corner awarded to the wrong team, and foul by an attacker.
This is something that could change the situation for some who have developed bad habits. It remains to be seen whether these rules will ever be applied in the Premier League, as they could significantly change things for a club like Arsenal.
