FOOTBALL – OGC Nice Mercato : Gym in the fight for a Swiss nugget
OGC Nice could pick up a Swiss player during the next summer mercato. The Gym would be interested in a Swiss international hopeful.
A Swiss reinforcement for OGC Nice this summer?
With only one win in its last five games, OGC Nice is experiencing a slump. Despite its 5th place in Ligue 1, Nice can still believe in the podium. The Aiglons are only two points behind Stade Rennais, currently 3rd. Still in the race to finish on the podium, the Côte of Azur club is reportedly preparing its next mercato in parallel. While a possible permanent transfer of Justin Kluivert is now mentioned, the Gym would like to close another signature in Switzerland. The local daily Blick reveals Nice’s interest in Kastriot Imeri. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder is currently playing for his club Servette FC.
Kastriot Imeri, Gym’s top pick?
The Swiss international is having a great season with the current 6th place in the Super League. The midfielder has 10 goals and three assists in 24 appearances this season. Enough to catch the eye of OGC Nice according to the newspaper. The future of Kastriot Imeri could be written away from Servette as he has only one year left on his contract at the end of the season. His club could sell him this summer for fear of seeing him leave in 2023, when his contract expires.
Given his performance and contractual situation, Imeri would also interest Eintracht Frankfurt. The Germans would be willing to pay 1 million euros for the Swiss nugget. An offer that would have little chance of succeeding, as his market value is estimated at 6 million euros according to Transfermarkt. It remains to be seen what Nice will offer to sign this target.
