A few hours before the Toulouse FC match at the Bollaert stadium, Philippe Montanier spoke about his return to Lens this evening.
Toulouse FC : Philippe Montanier has good memories of RC Lens
Coach of the Sang and Or from 2018 to 2020, Philippe Montanier has no hard feelings towards RC Lens despite a story that did not necessarily end well between the two parties. Fired on February 25, 2020 following poor results, this break was not necessarily well perceived by the former Lens coach at the time. In a press conference before the game, the coach of the Tefece was asked about his return to the Bollaert stadium tonight, and the latter is happy to be able to return to the Lens stadium.
“I’m going to see people I like again. I spent 9 years in the North so I have a lot of friends. I’m very happy to go back there and there’s no problem with RC Lens.”
These words seem to confirm that the hatchet has been buried with RCL.
Toulouse FC: A chance to play for the Tefece
After being held to a 2-2 draw at home by RC Strasbourg last weekend, Philippe Montanier‘s players will go to Bollaert to win. Facing a RC Lens team that has always won at home this season with 18 points taken out of 18 possible, and that remains on a nice victory in Marseille last weekend, the task looks tough for Toulouse FC.
However, they were recently able to bring back a point from the Parc OL in the 1-1 draw in Lyon, and could well come and annoy the Sang and Or tonight in Bollaert, and why not be the first team to hold RC Lens in check on their home ground this season in Ligue 1.
