Vlahovic to PSG in a blockbuster deal
In search of a top striker for next season, Paris Saint-Germain has joined the list of clubs interested in the situation of Dušan Vlahović. All while keeping the Randal Kolo Muani deal in the back of their minds.
In hindsight, it’s now easy to say that Juventus made a mistake by putting more than €80 million on the table to sign Dušan Vlahović in January 2022. Destined to play at the highest level after an exceptional season and a half with Fiorentina, the Serbian international ultimately struggled to find his footing in Turin. Now relegated to a rotational role, with Randal Kolo Muani, who arrived on loan this winter, taking precedence, the Old Lady’s number 9 is completely reconsidering his future. Juventus wants to cut their losses by selling him this summer to avoid losing him for free in June 2026. Several clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, are interested in the low price demanded by the Turin-based club’s management.
Today, Dušan Vlahović is the highest-paid player in Serie A. This situation is far from ideal for Juventus, who cannot afford to pay his €20 million gross annual salary. Additionally, his contract expires in 2026: if the Turin-based club does not sell him this summer, they will be forced to continue paying this hefty sum without being able to recoup a transfer fee. To avoid a massive loss, Juventus is offering a discounted price to part ways with Vlahović and his lucrative contract. Paris Saint-Germain has been informed that they will need to spend around €40 million to secure his services, according to Calciomercato. However, PSG holds a bargaining chip: Randal Kolo Muani, whom Juventus is keen to acquire next summer.
PSG or Saudi Arabia: Competition in the Transfer Market
However, the competition for his signature is fierce. PSG is not the only club interested in the player. The Italian media outlet notes that Saudi Arabia is very keen on Vlahović—though the feeling may not be mutual—while CaughtOffside reports that both Manchester United and Arsenal have already expressed interest in the striker. Next summer promises to be intense for the Serbian international, who is living out his final months in Piedmont.
